While we patiently wait for the next installment of the Dune movie, the announcement of Dune: Awakening, an open-world MMO game came in as a fine surprise. At the Opening Night Live of Gamescom 2022, Funcom got Dune fans all excited with the Dune: Awakening trailer. As of now, there aren’t much details, but the trailer and the available info is enough to give the game a desirable hype.
Mind you, Dune: Awakening is not to be confused with Dune: Spice Wars. Spice Wars is an RTS game, available for PC as an early access version. Fun fact: Both Awakening and Spice Wars come from the same Norwegian game developer, Funcom.

What we know so far about the Dune MMO game
From Trailer: The game is set on the legendary planet Arrakis and the trailer begins with the backshot of Paul Atreides with the endless landscape of the planet in the backdrop. The trailer doesn’t reveal much, but the amazing graphics in work along with the giant sandworm. Also, the soundtrack sounds phenomenal; I hope the in-game sound effects are great as well. I highly recommend watching the trailer in the highest resolution.

The premise of Dune: Awakening
This open world survival game is based on the vast landscapes of planet Arrakis. This will be a multi-player game and will be shared by thousands of players. The ever-changing landscape designed by sandstorms will give you the opportunity to discover new secrets and riches. You will get your own stillsuit that you will need to maintain, build shelters, and build your own empire as you mine spice.
You can tailor how you wish to grow you character, unlock abilities, design your own fortress. In short, you will be the master of your destiny in this game.

Dune: Awakening release date
As of now, there is no word from the publisher Funcom regarding the official release date of Dune: Awakening. The best way to be the first one to get the news would be to sign-up for Beta.
Dune: Awakening System requirements
We have no confirmation yet about the minimum system requirements for PC gamers. However, talking about consoles, the game will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
